Join the Allegheny Intermediate Unit as a dedicated Early Head Start Health Specialist, playing a vital role in the implementation of the Early Head Start Performance Standards. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our children and families.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement the Early Head Start Performance Standards, focusing on health services and overall infant/toddler development.
- Support parents in the health of their children and families, overseeing health care planning for children in the AIU Early Head Start Program.
- Monitor health, oral health practices, and environmental safety and nutrition services.
- Coordinate and conduct staff and parent trainings, ensuring compliance with Early Head Start health and safety standards.
- Function as a liaison between families, physicians, and AIU staff, providing information and safe plans for children's return to the educational environment.
- Registered Nurse preferred or LPN required.
- Adult, Infant, Child CPR preferred.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge and experience in pediatric and prenatal care.
- Experience in consultation and training for staff and parents.
- Excellent organizational skills, initiative, and ability to work with limited supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability and experience in working as a member of a team.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, and new technologies.
- Current Act 114, Act 34, Act 151, and NSOR required prior to hire date.
- School Personnel Health Record (Form H /2011) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date.
- Personal transportation, valid driver's license, and insurance required.
