Job Summary

As a highly skilled Registered Nurse on the 3 Main Adult Medicine Services (Acute and Progressive) at UK Good Samaritan Hospital, you will provide comprehensive care for adult patients with complex needs, including frequent assessments of pulmonary, renal, cardiac, vascular, and neurological conditions.

The Adult Internal and Pulmonary Medicine Services Floor offers a more intensive level of care and monitoring, including progressive care, telemetry, and medical/surgical services. As part of this unit, the RN serves as an essential component of the interdisciplinary progressive care team, responsible for closely monitoring patient physiologic condition, performing frequent treatments as ordered by physicians, and providing a safe transition from intensive care to progressive/acute care.

The primary responsibilities of this position include providing total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care, which includes assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
