Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Technician II to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a Field Technician II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational status of MK 41 VLS equipment is maintained to the highest levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, install, maintain, and repair electronic, mechanical, and/or other types of components and equipment.
  • Work with the GDIT VLS Team to ensure operational status of contracted VLS work is completed to required procedures and specifications.
  • Identify and correct any deficiencies found.
  • Collaborate with a competitive and highly trusted GDIT VLS Team.
Requirements
  • 2 years of related USN Shipboard MK 41 VLS Shipboard maintenance experience.
  • Ability to assist in the Removal, Overhaul, Test, and/or Installation VLS Cell Hatches, Uptake Hatches, Deluge Valves, Deluge Hoses, Marotta Valves, Hy-Check Valves, Root and Isolation System Valves under direction supervision of qualified VLS System Maintenance Technician (SMT) or Test Director (TD) in accordance with NAVSEA requirements, Navy MRCs, VLS Authorized Procedures, and Technical Manuals.
  • Security Clearance Level: Secret. Must have or be able to obtain both a security clearance and a DBIDS/CAC.
  • Solving, Communication, Microsoft Word and Excel, and understanding of basic Hand/Power Tools, Test Equipment and Gauge Calibration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MK-41 VLS NEC 0981 is desired, but not required.
