Position Overview

SSM Health Rehabilitation - Acute Care

Role: PRN Physical Therapist

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced inpatient Physical Therapist, preferably at Tier II, who is open to taking on weekday shifts.

  • Tier I: $45 per shift (plus weekend differential) - Minimum of 1 shift per month (including at least one weekend shift) - 1 holiday/weekend prior or after (at manager's discretion)
  • Tier II: $50 per shift (plus weekend differential) - Minimum of 3 shifts per month (at least 2 must be weekend shifts) - One summer and one winter holiday/weekend prior or after (at manager's discretion)

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - St. Louis has been recognized with the Premier Award for Quality twice. Centrally located, we provide outstanding care to our patients and are a Level II Time Critical Diagnosis STEMI Center. Our specialties include high-risk pregnancy care and fetal surgery, along with a certified stroke center and comprehensive imaging and outpatient services.

Working in a PRN capacity with SSM Health Rehabilitation allows you to select hours at various Acute Therapy locations and inpatient hospitals, providing flexibility in your schedule.

This position also serves as a pathway to potential Full-Time Physical Therapy roles as they become available throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct evaluations for all assigned patients and create, implement, and adjust treatment plans based on patient needs and physician recommendations.
  • Oversee and direct all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
  • Design functional treatment programs that facilitate effective reintegration into community activities.
  • Act as an educator for patients, families, students, colleagues, and oneself.
  • Perform additional professional duties related to patient care, development of therapy services, and program delivery design.
Qualifications
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapist is required.
  • Certification in BLS or completion within the first 90 days of employment is required.
