Position Overview

Long Term Care Nursing Supervisor - RN or LPN

Employment Type: Full Time - Day Shifts with Some Evening Hours

On-call responsibilities every 5-6 weeks for one week duration

Key Responsibilities of the LPN - House Supervisor:

  • Engage in and contribute to various multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new nursing staff.
  • Assist in the development and promotion of policies and procedures.
  • Act as a charge nurse during staffing shortages.
  • Conduct regular rounds on the unit to provide direct supervision of staff through active engagement.
  • Monitor unit safety and ensure a secure environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the unit.
  • Complete audits as directed by the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing.
  • Support charge nurses with clinical tasks such as admissions, treatments, and order management.
  • Facilitate and manage monthly nursing staff meetings.
  • Provide hands-on assistance and training to nursing staff as required.
  • Participate in staff development and address disciplinary matters as necessary.
  • Assist in the creation and updating of resident care plans to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct follow-ups as needed within the unit.
  • Address clinical concerns in collaboration with staff, families, and physicians.

Qualifications for the LPN - House Supervisor:

  • Must possess a valid Maryland LPN License.
