Job Summary:

As a RN House Supervisor at Homewood Retirement Centers, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and leadership to our residents and staff. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to residents as needed, while also supervising and guiding nursing staff to ensure high-quality care.
  • Monitor and evaluate resident health problems, communicating findings to attending physicians and coordinating follow-up care.
  • Review clinical records for accuracy and completeness, documenting observations, assessments, and progress notes.
  • Oversee orientation of new nursing personnel and ensure proper communication with families regarding resident health conditions.
  • Act as liaison between residents, families, and physicians, interpreting doctor orders and treatment plans as needed.
  • Prepare daily reports and communicate significant information to the relieving supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Current and valid RN license in the state providing resident care.
  • Two to four years' experience in a supervisory position, preferably in a geriatric long-term care facility.
  • Compassion, understanding, and empathy for older persons.
  • Strong management skills, including written and verbal communication, good judgment, and coaching.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff at a level they can understand.
  • Must be able to react quickly and decisively in emergencies and unexpected resident behavior.
