About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at California Institute of Arts & Technology. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of transactions for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and overall financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Account Reconciliation: Conduct weekly, monthly, and annual reconciliations of accounting and financial records for management review and approval.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including financial reporting and auditing standards.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to accounts payable and accounts receivable staff.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communication: Communicate financial information to management, staff, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
  • Skills: Advanced proficiency with accounting software, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, and Paylocity. Experience with internal control audit function.
  • Personal Qualities: Detail-oriented, outstanding research, and analytical skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Process tasks in a timely manner. Ability to multi-task. Problem-solve rapidly and effectively. Work independently with minimal supervision. Capability to handle confidential and sensitive information, following confidentiality guidelines.

Salary

$75,000-$85,000 annually, depending on experience.
