Job Title: Atlas Construction Superintendent

Job Summary:

As an Atlas Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site activities, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring successful project delivery to owners, on time and on budget, with the desired level of quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all necessary materials, equipment, and inspections are in place to support the project schedule and overall requirements.
  • Responsible for site safety, ensuring the overall jobsite is safe for workers and visitors, and managing compliance with established company safety policies.
  • Work with project teams to budget, forecast, and manage field personnel, as well as manage labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other cost considerations.
  • Prepare work plans and develop temporary facilities for the project.
  • Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer's data, and execute the project based on said documentation.
  • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
  • Manage the overall project and 2-week look-ahead schedules, including creating the master schedule and updating it on a weekly basis.
  • Generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.
  • Review submittals for compliance with project manual and plans, manufacturers' recommendations, and code, or other standards applicable to the system.
  • Work with the project team to manage the company's quality control program for the project.
  • Conduct preconstruction planning.
  • Conduct on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades lead personnel.
  • Manage subcontractors for all work performed on-site.
  • Management and supervision of work crews on-site, including:
    • Mentor and train field personnel.
    • Manage foremen and their duties, ensuring all have resources and information to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently.
    • Provide performance evaluations of field personnel.
    • Manage the overall safety of the project, ensuring all personnel have resources to perform their work safely.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years proven leadership or supervisory role.
  • At least 10 years of construction experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Insurable driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may be conducted in all types of weather conditions.
  • Requires the use of protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves.
  • May be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy environments.
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
