We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Psychiatrist to join our team at the Family Service Agency of San Francisco. As a key member of our Senior Division, you will provide psychiatric services to our clients across Alameda and San Francisco Counties.
Key Responsibilities- Exercise medical responsibilities for psychiatric evaluation, medication assessment, prescribing, and monitoring as an active member of the treatment team.
- Work in the field or clinic, primarily in San Francisco, providing injections and ordering diagnostic tests as needed.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide therapy and education to clients, including harm reduction, relapse prevention, and motivational interviewing.
- Make appropriate referrals and linkages to other services in support of clients.
- Coordinate medical issues with primary care providers and specialists.
- Provide expertise and sign off on conservatorships, as needed.
- Maintain client caseload and provide coverage for other caseloads as needed.
- Maintain clinical records in accordance with mandated standards.
- Consult and provide on-going education to non-medical staff in psychopharmacology and medical aspects of patient care.
- Active license from the appropriate California Board.
- Experience and interest in working with the geriatric population.
- Demonstrated commitment to the welfare of individuals and families with behavioral health issues.
- Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and psychosis.
- Complex problem-solving skills, including identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Critical thinking skills, including using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Social perceptiveness skills, including being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
- Service-oriented skills, including actively looking for ways to help people.
- Demonstrated interest in ongoing learning and training.
- Ability to be a team collaborator with a welcoming, culturally-attuned philosophy of care.
- Valid California Driver's license and car preferred.
