As we continue to expand our impact, we are looking for a passionate leader who is resourceful, strategic, and agile. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in external relations, demonstrated leadership skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information effectively.

Key Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization, engaging with partners, funders, and government entities.
  • Meet with legislators to advocate for early childhood education and elevate the Consortium's leadership presence.
  • Collaborate with policy teams to inform stakeholders and produce influential materials such as op-eds and policy briefs.
  • Work alongside marketing and policy teams to create and distribute public-facing documents, including annual reports and press releases.
  • Utilize research and evaluations to secure additional funding for enhanced services.
  • Partner with development staff to identify and pursue grant opportunities.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in early childhood education, human services, or the nonprofit sector.
  • Familiarity with New York City and State government processes related to education and human services.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the early childhood education landscape, including current challenges and opportunities.
  • Strong project management experience and the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven track record of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and social media for advocacy purposes.
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for various audiences.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; bilingual candidates are preferred.

Employment Details

This is a permanent full-time position with a salary of $110,000. The role requires a commitment to a hybrid work arrangement, with potential in-office requirements and public engagements.
