We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire/Life Safety Special Events Coordinator to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for responding to medical and fire-related incidents at special events, including sporting events. Your expertise in emergency medical care and fire safety will be essential in ensuring the safety of our attendees and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to medical and fire-related incidents at special events, providing emergency medical care and fire safety services as needed.
- Collaborate with event staff and emergency responders to ensure a safe and successful event.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for special events, including fire safety and medical emergency protocols.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Provide training and education to event staff on emergency response procedures and fire safety protocols.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; N.C. EMT certification with Wake County EMS affiliation required.
- Minimum of one year of experience in responding to fire and/or medical incidents in a volunteer and/or paid position.
- Physically able to provide emergency medical care and respond to fire-related incidents, including lifting, moving, and physical agility.
- Valid NC driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training in special event populations and experience with patient triage in large-scale events.
- Haz-Mat Operations certification and NIMS 300 certification preferred.
