Position Overview:

The Senior Product Owner Manager for Customer Communications Capabilities will spearhead a team of Product Owners dedicated to enhancing and optimizing our communication platforms utilized for email, text/SMS, push notifications, website, and mobile app marketing. This position will articulate the product vision for the Product Family in collaboration with business technology counterparts.

The Product Professional will lead the formulation of the Product Vision at the Family level, driving business value and elevating customer experiences while ensuring alignment and managing dependencies across teams within a Product Family and with cross-functional partners. The Senior Manager serves as a servant leader and oversees team members, possessing deep knowledge to identify patterns intuitively. They are often recognized within the industry for their professional contributions and are responsible for developing and mentoring teams to effectively manage and escalate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and sustain the Family Product vision by engaging with stakeholders on critical product considerations, aligning with product vision, features, and roadmap to fulfill business unit objectives. Utilize customer insights, feedback, financial data, compliance, and risk metrics to define product features and roadmap in collaboration with subject matter experts, potentially expanding existing or creating new product portfolios through enhanced customer experiences.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the product team, ensuring alignment with senior leadership. Create prototypes (e.g., MVPs, POCs) based on customer feedback to test, learn, and validate concepts before committing to larger-scale development. Coordinate with Product Family POs on prioritization and delivery to maximize Product Family Value.
  • At the family level: Accountable for defining, guiding, and executing product-related activities for a specific portfolio throughout the entire product lifecycle, from strategy and roadmap definition to development and market readiness. Set business objectives for the product development process and oversee execution as necessary. Supervise product professionals with minimal oversight.
  • Validate user story acceptance criteria and ensure appropriate testing frameworks for product features. Collaborate with Data stewards to guarantee that required data quality controls are identified and implemented. Monitor and assess product progress through each iteration.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret key product performance metrics, including financials, network volumes, and customer feedback trends, to develop and communicate findings and make strategic recommendations for performance enhancements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide mentorship and fill knowledge gaps, negotiating and influencing others across shared services and product teams.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with business technology to outline necessary technical features for continuous optimization of system components and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Develop and coach teams to effectively identify, manage, and escalate risks within the teams you oversee.
  • Manage a team of direct reports, focusing on people development and performance management, hiring, coaching, and mentoring. Foster a culture of accountability and ownership by empowering the product team to make decisions close to the work. Serve as the business lead on cross-functional teams and assist in managing dependencies while building strategic partnerships across different product teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Management or Engineering within the Financial Services or Tech Industry, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, 10+ years of experience in Product Management or Engineering in the Financial Services or Tech Industry, or a related field may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will also have:

  • At least 2 years of experience in people management.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position typically ranges between $143,500.00 to $201,000. Additional incentives may be included as part of a competitive total compensation package. Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may influence the pay for this position.
