JOB MISSION:

New Balance is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Product Owner, responsible for the implementation of global retail solutions to new markets internationally to join our DTC, Global Retail Technology team. The Senior Product Owner will play a critical role in driving the execution of key initiatives to our global expansion of multichannel omni retail systems.

This individual will have had successful experience leading a team(s) and working with others cross functionally including 3rd party vendors in a matrix based organization to plan and delivery end-to-end solutions in a global landscape within an agile environment. This person will work with DTC business teams to help define regional requirements, provide valuation, prioritize, effectively manage backlogs, while remaining consistent with global standards. They will serve as a point of contact for the global business and partner with both 3rd party vendors and internal cross functional teams to deliver a best-in-class global retail system standard. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering all capabilities to run a retail business through technology. This role will work with the Project Management Office, Organizational Change Management, Enterprise IT, and several DTC resources to achieve success.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Ownership of the product and program roadmap, continuous improvement, and proven progress towards desired business outcomes.
Drive implementations including timeline, budget, scope, and business adoption of retail technologies while showing its value.
Support go-to-market planning and strategy with cross functional partners to develop long range roadmaps
Provide POVs for making product tradeoff decisions that factor business opportunity, customer experience, level of effort, required investment, & solution complexity
Evangelize the product capability set. This includes describing why we’re building (through valuation), what we’re building, and relay performance results for products built
Manage the coordination of resources in a matrix-based organization using an agile framework
Ability to visualize and influence product mapping across other DTC technology products considering their roadmap impact to market expansion.
Work with other Product Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters on the roadmap, prioritizing the backlog using tools adopted by the team in an Agile environment (SAFe).
Facilitate communication throughout the development process between internal stakeholders and customers while protecting the freedom and autonomy of the teams.
Become a resident expert in retail solutions and business problems, asking the right questions to fully understand the what and the why.
Define success metrics for the product and new capabilities and continuously measure success towards those goals.
Support market onboarding to gain successful product adoption including “Train the Trainer” sessions and onboarding documents

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

10+ years of experience implementing large scale solutions with experience in a global landscape.
Significant experience in the Retail Industry with strong grasp of technology systems supporting merchandising, financials, inventory systems, Point of Sale, OMS and Omni solutions.
Agile Product Management experience and a solid concept of Agile methodologies and associated ceremonies. Additional project management experience preferred.
Develops and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external partners.
Demonstrated ability of working with retail specific solutions and ERP systems within a complex vertically integrated environment.
Excellent communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present to a variety of levels within an organization.
Strategic problem resolution approach and the ability to develop and communicate plans based on a product roadmap.
Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs, and explain those concepts back to cross functional business partners in a meaningful way.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with technical teams, merchants, finance, store operations and outside vendor counterparts to deliver products/service solutions.
Keen ability to prioritize and act with sense of urgency to support shifting business, program, and product needs Ability to be decisive in ambiguous situations.
Resilient, collaborative, flexible, innovative, positive attitude.
Minimum bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related field of study.
