Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic material planning processes and production schedules to ensure operational and production continuity.
  • Work closely with internal and external parties to ensure supply of materials is in place to satisfy production requirements.
  • Deliver efficient, effective, and flexible solutions to meet production requirements and reduce variance in supply inventory.
  • Manage inventory risk and ensure that contingency plans are in place.
  • Design, develop, and implement flexible solutions to aid business efficiency, drive process improvements, and add value.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate action to counter and reconcile inventory variances through daily cycle counting per cycle counting standards.
  • Ensure that professional and consistent materials planning and production forecast processes are applied across the business.
  • Ensure the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and inventory accuracy at all times and manage and control inventory levels and movements.
  • Ensure strategic and operational information, reports, and metrics are available to share with others in the business as and when required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a role relating to Planning, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Proven people management skill set.
  • Relevant degree preferred. (Ideally 5 years min experience)
  • Significant experience of working in a Scheduling and planning role and managing the smooth execution of production requirements, ideally within automotive or manufacturing.
  • Experience in handling supplier relationships.
  • Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems or similar.
  • Experience of delivering results through cross-functional working.
  • Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous.
  • Experience working with domestic AND foreign supply chains - Japan preferred.
