Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at St. David's Medical Center. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in gathering diagnostic information through the use of radioactive materials and sophisticated radiation detecting equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed pharmaceutical grade radioactive materials to patients as outlined by state and federal regulations.
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine exams in accordance with SDMC CVIC protocols.
  • Ensure availability of physician for procedures requiring the administration of medications and supervision.
  • Maintain required documentation regarding radioactive materials, both upon receipt and prior to administration.
  • Perform surveys and documents findings of work area, patient rooms, and radioactive waste storage area at appropriately scheduled intervals.
  • Enter procedure charges to patient accounts prior to end of scheduled shift.
  • Coordinate outpatient exams with patient assigned Physician or extenders.
  • Coordinate scheduled procedures with radioactive materials and supplies.
  • Adhere to policies related to Standard Precautions, Infection Control, and Radiation Safety guidelines as described by TDHS and Joint Commission.
  • Work with Radiation Safety Officer in maintaining quality control and quality assurance guidelines to ensure all regulatory standards are met.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree and graduation from a Nuclear Medicine Program (NMTCB) and/or ARRT (N)
  • Preferred: At minimum 1 year experience as a NM Technologist
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT (N)) OR a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • State Regulated Radiological Tech or Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (CMRT) through the Texas Medical Board
  • Current certification for BLS Healthcare Provider required as per St. David's HealthCare policy.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
