Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Ascension Seton. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radioactive materials to create images of the body.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals to create high-quality images for radiologists and physicians.
  • Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Practice certification from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program.
  • One or more of the following certifications: Nuclear Medical Tech from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, Nuclear Cardiology Technologist from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, or Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
