Key Responsibilities

  • Baking: Prepare a variety of baked goods in accordance with Perkins standards. Ensure all items are labeled and dated properly, adhering to food safety protocols.
  • Display Management: Set up and maintain attractive displays of baked items, utilizing effective merchandising techniques to enhance guest engagement.
  • Sanitation: Uphold rigorous cleanliness standards in all kitchen areas, including bakery prep and storage zones. Responsible for the sanitation of all bakery equipment and utensils.
  • Food Cost Control: Monitor and manage food costs by ensuring accurate portioning and adherence to recipes.
  • FIFO Standards: Implement FIFO (first in, first out) practices in food preparation to minimize waste.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff and management to maintain a harmonious and efficient work environment.
  • Guest Interaction: Provide excellent service by communicating effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure guest satisfaction.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying heavy items, up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and kitchen environments.

Qualifications

While previous experience is not required, a willingness to learn and a passion for baking are essential. Basic knowledge of sanitation and safety practices will be beneficial.
