Job Title: Business Office Manager

At Vintage Faire Nursing & Rehab, we are seeking a highly skilled Business Office Manager to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for directing the financial and business office functions of our facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the financial and business office functions of the facility, ensuring compliance with current accounting, cost reimbursement, and legislative guidelines.
  • Responsible for the accurate reporting and billing of verified charges to the responsible party(ies), and the timely collection of these monies.
  • Supervise and train personnel involved in admissions, accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, resident funds/trusts, collections, petty cash, authorizations, PCC, and other billing systems.
  • Monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Represent the facility at internal and external meetings as needed.
  • Maintain a system of financial recordkeeping, including ledgers, accurate recording of census, recording payments, writing receipts, posting cash journals, and preparing bank deposits.
  • Oversee and manage facility accounts receivables.
  • Maintain census and report status changes.
  • Assist with Medi-Cal or Medicaid applications and redeterminations.
  • Prepare TARS as needed.
  • Responsible for collection of bad debts.
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of experience in healthcare billing, preferably in long-term care.
  • Medicare/HMO billing experience with successful results in a similar position.
  • Understanding and implementation of healthcare reimbursement, billing, and accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
  • Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
  • Works collaboratively and independently, following procedures and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Remains calm and professional in stressful situations.
