Position Overview:
The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for executing key functions of the role, which encompass supporting the Sales Executive / Account Executive and assisting clients with their service requirements while implementing modifications to existing accounts. This role necessitates specific service and marketing obligations, including but not limited to maintaining service and sales delivery standards, and performing vital tasks while adhering to the quality and service benchmarks established by the agency.
Important Notes:
- This role requires a hybrid work arrangement.
- The compensation range is between $70,000 and $85,000 annually, plus benefits, contingent upon the candidate's experience and skill set.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Service and Support:
- Deliver technical assistance to the Sales Executive/Account Executive, particularly in assessing client requirements.
- Occasionally attend client meetings alongside the Sales Executive/Account Executive.
- Complete applications in collaboration with the Sales Executive/Account Executive, submit them to suitable carriers, and follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotes for new and renewal business.
- Issue binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and related documents, ensuring their accuracy and forwarding them to clients with appropriate communication.
- Determine the appropriateness of direct or agency billing and invoice accordingly.
- Prepare insurance summaries, schedules, and proposals.
- Review policy audits for accuracy and facilitate necessary corrections between clients and carriers.
- Process incoming correspondence and phone inquiries, responding promptly within company guidelines.
- Utilize the agency's credit and collection policy in invoicing and ensuring timely payments.
- Investigate reasons for cancellation requests, take action to retain accounts, and inform the Sales Executive/Account Executive.
- Handle cancellation requests to carriers, ensuring accurate and timely resolution while maintaining the agency's financial integrity.
- Assist clients in filing initial claims, ensuring prompt responses from carrier representatives and following up on claim statuses.
- Identify potential loss exposures and recommend suitable coverages in collaboration with the Sales Executive/Account Executive.
- Conduct online rating of quotes.
- Request loss runs and keep the loss run card updated.
- Maintain accurate and current information in the Applied EPIC system.
Professional Development:
- Establish priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient and accurate processing of transactions and responsibilities.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology to enhance knowledge and performance.
- Employ effective communication skills, collaborating purposefully and providing necessary information and guidance to achieve the agency's business objectives.
- Foster professional, cordial, and effective relationships with clients, colleagues, vendors, and other business associates.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- College degree with a minimum of 3 years of insurance experience or at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Possession of a valid Property Casualty Broker-Agent license is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively explain complex issues and interpret intricate information.
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance products and their applications.
- Familiarity with insurance markets and relevant references.
- Ability to execute complex tasks involving numerous concrete and abstract variables.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift or pull up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Compensation:
The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $85,000, along with benefits, based on experience and skill level.
