Project Engineer

Job Summary:
The Project Engineer will be responsible for leading all engineering functions of their product lines, from concept to design, prototyping, development, testing, and manufacturing. This role requires collaboration with surgeons, marketing, and product managers to ensure high-quality and on-time product introductions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain market feedback from surgeons and customers to determine functional and design specifications for new product development.
- Create and maintain project plans and FDA-compliant Design History Files (DHF) for each project.
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects to ensure timely completion while maintaining compliance with Globus quality systems and regulatory bodies.
- Design and develop instruments and implants using Pro/E and SolidWorks software.
- Partner with in-house prototype shops and outside vendors for rapid prototyping and evaluation.
- Perform design verification and validation activities to ensure designs meet specifications.
- Collaborate with marketing and product managers to develop forecasts and market plans.
- Assist in writing regulatory applications to the FDA and other regulatory bodies.
- Partner with the operations department to set up manufacturing and/or purchasing as appropriate for each project.
- Participate in product introductions through sales training, customer calls/visits, etc.
- Maintain diligent post-introduction monitoring to address customer requests for changes.
- Research industry and direct competitors to ensure Globus has cutting-edge technology in all markets entered.
- Adhere to the company Code of Conduct, AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.
- Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties.
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of experience in mechanical design engineering; medical device experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a similar degree.
- Proficiency in Pro/E and/or SolidWorks software for design and drafting.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and team player capable of working in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience in preparing reports and managing project budgets.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to attend surgeries and/or labs.
Physical Demands:
- Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Required to possess specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and capacity to adjust focus.
