Backend Software Engineer

As a key member of our internal team, you will leverage your expertise in backend software development to create and deliver innovative products and services for our customers.
You will collaborate with a seasoned team of engineers focused on building a suite of external-facing products. Your role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining backend components and APIs, as well as engaging in scrum ceremonies and other SDLC activities.
Key responsibilities include following coding standards, best practices, and testing practices, as well as continually monitoring industry trends and staying current with the latest developments in technologies.
You will be responsible for delivering tasks punctually, adhering to acceptance criteria, and drafting relevant technical backend documentations.
Mentoring junior backend developers and utilizing clear and empathic communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams will also be essential.
Additionally, you will participate in peer code reviews, explore and adopt new backend technologies and design patterns, and lead backend architectural discussions.
Supporting DevOps practices, especially integrating CI/CD pipelines, diagnosing and resolving production defects swiftly, and serving as a backend SME will be critical to your success.
Qualifications include 7+ years in backend software development, proficiency in Node.js and frameworks like Express, experience with NoSQL databases and SQL databases, familiarity with Agile methodologies, and knowledge of version control systems like Git.
Preferred qualifications include proficiency in modern JavaScript, experience integrating applications with React front ends, familiarity with Azure DevOps, and knowledge of logging tools like AppInsights and Dynatrace.
We are looking for a highly analytical and communicative individual with a strong understanding of backend software development principles and practices.
Experience with performance monitoring tools and the ability to proactively address bottlenecks and issues will be highly valued.
