MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled Emergency Services Technician to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. As a key member of our emergency department, you will provide critical support to our nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Basic Nursing Care: Assist emergency department nursing staff in providing basic nursing care to patients with non-acute, acute, and rapidly changing physical needs.
- Procedural Support: Perform a variety of invasive and non-invasive procedures under the nursing/medical staff's supervision, including insertion of routine intravenous lines, urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, and phlebotomy.
- Patient Transportation: Transport patients, their personal possessions, medical records, and attached clinical devices (IV's and oxygen) by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, etc. to various hospital locations throughout the Hospital.
- Equipment Management: Monitor, receive, and stock equipment and supplies in designated areas.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Training: May require up to 1 year of technical or other specialized training.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years clinical hospital or EMS experience, hospital experience preferred.
- Certifications: EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and BLS (Basic Life Support) within 60 days.
MedStar Health offers a competitive salary range of $31.852 and a comprehensive benefits package.
