Job SummaryWe are seeking a credentialed veterinary technician to join our team. As a veterinary technician in our emergency department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our veterinary team, and contributing to the success of our hospital.
Responsibilities- Treat each patient with compassion and care, providing exceptional customer service to our clients.
- Perform basic to intermediate nursing care tasks, patient monitoring, and treatments, using critical thinking and leadership skills to carry out patient treatment plans.
- Use your understanding of common diseases and conditions, physical assessment, and monitoring parameters to accurately triage incoming patients.
- Administer medications and understand potential adverse effects, set up and monitor intravenous fluid therapy, and perform diagnostic tests.
- Contribute to incoming outpatient care and ongoing inpatient care, participating in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care.
- Be trained to perform CPR and collect samples for diagnostic testing.
- Perform advanced vascular access techniques, ultrasonography, and paracentesis, and participate in formulating treatment plans.
- Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the location of the VEG practice.
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role, with experience in emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with the team and with customers.
- Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing hospital equipment, and the ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg on own and support up to 40 kg with assistance.
