Job Summary:

The Medical Device Assembly Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of automated assembly machines. This role ensures the continuous operation of assembly machines by interpreting and responding to machine faults and performing infrequent alignment of stations and fixtures. The technician is dedicated to assembling medical devices with the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean work area and equipment.
  • Read and understand operational procedures.
  • Operate equipment safely in accordance with company standards and procedures.
  • Start machines from a power-off state.
  • Perform work order setups in electronic batch records, data acquisition, and inventory management systems.
  • Operate machines, jigs, and fixtures to produce high-quality products at established run rates.
  • Read and interpret gauges and dials as required.
  • Interpret machine faults, rectify problems, and restart machines as needed.
  • Complete production records and work order documentation.
  • Inspect or test products to ensure quality.
  • Weigh, count, package, and label finished products.
  • Quickly learn to operate simple machines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in operating multiple simple machines, which may include:
  • Press and torque fitments.
  • Machines with fewer than 10 stations.
  • Machines requiring low levels of operator attention.
  • Minimal station and fixture alignments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and general computer usage.
  • Ability to read and understand procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or completion of an Employment Assessment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires travel of less than 5% of the time.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Use solvents, glue, or solder as necessary.
  • Perform visual inspections with and without magnification tools.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear while performing job duties.
  • Operate in a clean room environment.
  • May require sitting or standing for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be able to repetitively move and lift objects up to 20 lbs.
