About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and compassionate nurse to join our Radiation Oncology team at St. Mary's Hospital in Janesville. As a Radiation Oncology Clinic Specialist, you'll work closely with our radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate with the radiation oncology team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, such as reducing treatment side effects and enhancing quality of life.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet the needs of multiple patients and responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid license to practice nursing in the state of Wisconsin.
  • 2+ years of experience in radiation oncology or a related field, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Strong understanding of radiation therapy principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
