Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at Intermountain Healthcare. As a Registered Nurse in the PICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patients' physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patients' conditions.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including referrals, follow-up appointments, and education.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • PALS Certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to:

  • See and read information, labels, and assess patient needs.
  • Operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Verbalize and hear information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
