A prominent community financial institution is looking to fill the role of a full-time Commercial Credit Underwriter, with a hybrid work arrangement.

The Commercial Credit Underwriter is tasked with assessing credit data for existing and prospective borrowers, evaluating the feasibility of extending credit across various loan types, and supporting loan officers in the financial analysis and underwriting processes. The primary goal is to uphold and safeguard the quality of the bank's assets.

Present loan evaluations to the Loan Committee and Board of Directors. Collaborate effectively with loan officers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Examine and interpret financial documents, tax filings, and forecasts that support commercial loan proposals.

Maintain a robust understanding of diverse financial statements and tax returns, demonstrating a commitment to staying informed about evolving tax regulations and financial assessment techniques.

Conduct thorough underwriting reviews of commercial loan proposals.
Engage actively in the presentation and discussion of commercial loan proposals to the Loan Committee and Board of Directors.

Execute annual reviews of significant commercial loan accounts, providing written assessments that include recommendations regarding loan classifications and necessary actions.

Work collaboratively with colleagues across various departments to complete assignments.

Communicate with loan officers during the evaluation of loan proposals, relay the changing expectations of the loan committee, and enhance the loan officers' comprehension of credit criteria and current underwriting standards.

Ensure compliance with Credit Policy.
Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Experience with nCino is preferred.
Experience in a community banking environment is advantageous.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Commercial Underwriting.
Familiarity with loan documentation and various credit structures is essential.
Experience with LaserPro and/or Wolters Kluwer is beneficial.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-sufficiency.
