We are looking for an Industry Strategy Marketing Lead to spearhead marketing initiatives and execution for the Insurance sector, which is among our rapidly expanding market areas. This role will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Customer Success, and other go-to-market functions to enhance awareness and generate demand for the Appian AI process automation platform and its related offerings in the Insurance domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements within the Insurance industry; keep abreast of market trends, and identify buyer personas and key messaging.
  • Collaborate with Insurance Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to articulate the distinctive value that Appian brings to the Insurance sector.
  • Establish a global marketing strategy aimed at capturing the attention of our target audience within the Insurance market.
  • Design tactics to create awareness and generate high-quality leads for the Sales team; work alongside Digital Marketing, Events, and Field Marketing teams to coordinate and amplify lead-generating initiatives.
  • Employ a disciplined and analytical approach to measure program effectiveness against pipeline and revenue objectives; refine program delivery for optimal results.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

Engage with various go-to-market functions—Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Success—acting as the primary liaison to secure stakeholder support and ensure the success of all marketing efforts related to Insurance.

  • Assist in product launches and sales enablement by developing positioning and messaging documents, sales presentations, solution briefs, and other marketing materials.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience in the insurance sector or marketing management within B2B SaaS environments.
  • Demonstrated success in formulating strategies and tactics to enhance brand visibility and drive demand within targeted segments.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts in clear, value-oriented messages.
  • Analytical mindset with the capability to leverage data for program planning, execution, and enhancement.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-departmental initiatives, set strategic direction, and ensure accountability among key stakeholders.
  • Experience working collaboratively across functions in a dynamic and matrixed environment.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as business process management (BPM), robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), case management, CRM, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and enterprise mobile, along with Insurance-specific systems like policy administration, claims, and underwriting, is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
