Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Athletic Trainer to join our team as a Medical Spotter for the MLS Spotter Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and reporting potential head injuries during soccer matches, working closely with the Venue Medical Director and Club medical staff to ensure the safety of players.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with Venue Medical Director regarding potential head injuries
  • Assist in the concussion protocol process by providing additional information to Club medical staff through written communication and clipped videos
  • Be available for a minimum of 40 matches per season
  • Alert supervisor of any potential injury that requires medical attention
  • Fill out post-match form for each clipped video/incident or match if no clips were needed
  • Recognize visual signs of potential head injuries as outlined by MLS
  • Ability to work nights and weekends based on game day schedules

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or master's degree from an accredited CAATE athletic training education program
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a certified athletic trainer (ATC) or sports medicine experience with equivalent or higher education
  • Current NATABOC certification
  • Current state licensure in practicing state

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of head injuries and management
  • Recognition of on-field evaluations
  • Ability to clearly communicate written or verbal as it pertains to the observed visual signs of the MLS Spotter program
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent note taking
