St. Mary's Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomy Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our blood collection processes.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for blood draws, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Collect blood samples using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques, ensuring proper identification and labeling of specimens.
- Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, maintaining the integrity of specimens and ensuring accurate test results.
- Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensuring everything is in working order and properly sanitized.
- Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current.
- Minimum of two years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
