We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacists by reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
Key Responsibilities- Compounds and prepares medications, including high-risk medication processes, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Delivers and returns medications to patient areas, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
- Documents pharmaceutical activities, including patient billing and quality control requirements.
- Responds to customer requests for assistance with pharmacy services, such as medication delivery and drug information.
- Operates and supports automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications for individual patients.
- Orders, receives, and restocks inventory, and completes expiration date management.
- Assists with training new employees and contributes to process improvement projects.
- Completes regulatory compliance inspections and documentation.
- Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
- CPhT certification from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
As a Pharmacy Technician II at UNC Health Care, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and inclusive environment with a team of dedicated professionals. We offer a competitive salary range of $17.50 - $24.63 per hour, as well as a Pharmacy Technician Incentive Program with $1500 in commitment incentives spread over a two-year period.
