About the Role

The Chief Growth Officer, West Region Leader will play a critical role in driving business growth and expansion in the West Region. This position will be responsible for establishing the overall strategic direction, identifying and defining key initiatives to achieve organic and inorganic growth targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and formulate strategic plans for payer, physician, medical group, hospital, and accountable care organization relationships in geographic markets.
  • Growth Strategy: Pursue and close strategic relationships with large physician practices, hospitals, and accountable care organizations to include acquisition, joint venture relationships, and other related partnerships.
  • Executive Leadership: Act as a strategic thought partner with Market Leadership and their regional operating teams to evaluate growth opportunities.
  • Population Health Services: Provide strategic direction of the engagement plan and service platform for population health services.
  • Marketing and Analysis: Review and execute on marketing and analysis of statistical reports addressing growth opportunities.
  • Acquisition Integration: Partner with Corporate Development and lead West-based acquisition integration process for local operations.
  • Payer and Institutional Negotiations: Lead Payer and Institutional negotiation teams.
  • Scalable Business Platforms: Define and enable scalable business platforms to support growth.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead strategy sessions with leadership teams on new business.
  • Joint Venture Experience: Prior experience participating actively in joint venture business meetings.
  • Executive Level Experience: Executive level experience growing membership in both a fee-for-service and global risk environment.
  • Contracting Experience: 10+ years of experience managing payer, hospital, and provider contracting under a single strategy to support business growth objectives.
  • Strategic Development: 8+ years of experience developing integrated strategies for payer, hospital, and provider contracting resulting in large-scale membership growth.
  • Influencing Skills: Solid influencing skills; track record of successful client relationship development and ability to quickly build credibility and gain the confidence of individuals at all levels.
  • Accountability: Solid sense of accountability; passion for owning projects and driving them to completion.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills.
  • Team Leadership: Team player with the ability to sell change effectively and influence others.
  • Market Trends: Demonstrated ability to recognize, prioritize, and evaluate market trends and specific growth opportunities.
  • Healthcare Knowledge: Keen understanding and passion for healthcare.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $, to $, per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
