Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled EEG Specialist II to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our neurodiagnostic team, you will be responsible for providing expert-level EEG monitoring and analysis in our epilepsy monitoring unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform EEG monitoring during Wada, PET, ictal SPECT studies, tilt table testing, and magnetoencephalograms (MEG)
  • Conduct EEG recordings for brain and epilepsy surgery, including corpus callosotomy, lesionectomy, hemispherectomy, or hemispherotomy
  • Assist with electrode setup and implantation of invasive electrode recordings
  • Recognize clinically significant events and electroencephalographic and electrocorticographic patterns, following facility policy and procedures regarding critical test results
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other medical staff to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Assist in the training of EEG Specialists I and maintain continuing education requirements for CLTM* and R. EEG T.* credentials
Requirements
  • Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program or a Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university
  • BLS certification
  • Credential in electroencephalography (R. EEG T.*)
  • Credential in long-term monitoring (CLTM*)
  • 3 or more years of experience in the neurodiagnostic field, including 2 years of experience in long-term monitoring for epilepsy
Working Conditions
  • Frequent walking, sitting, standing, reaching, and bending
  • Occasional kneeling, crawling, pulling, and pushing
