The Johns Hopkins University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Director to join our esteemed Peabody Children's Chorus team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the musical education and development of our talented young singers.
Key Responsibilities- Co-teach or teach independently two weekly rehearsals, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
- Help plan, implement, and evaluate the artistic year and educational program for the Cantus ensemble, ensuring a high level of musical excellence.
- Collaborate artistically with other community and professional musical organizations, promoting the Peabody Children's Chorus's reputation and mission.
- Bachelor's degree in music from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three years' experience teaching and/or conducting, with piano proficiency desirable.
- Experience teaching elementary and/or middle-school age singers, with knowledge of vocal pedagogy and the young voice.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
