Job Summary

As a Program Coordinator CREL at Kern Community College District, you will play a vital role in coordinating the maintenance and implementation of assigned programs. Your primary responsibility will be to assist students in achieving their educational, vocational, and personal growth goals. You will work under the direction of an assigned supervisor and be responsible for coordinating the administration of assigned programs, initiating and coordinating activities to achieve departmental/program goals. You will also develop and coordinate orientations, seminars, and workshops to familiarize students with educational and career opportunities. Additionally, you will assist in coordinating a public information and relations program to familiarize students with the services and programs at the college, and develop and coordinate community outreach activities. You will monitor student progress and perform follow-up surveys on programs, courses, and student success. You will also advise and assist students with enrollment procedures, promote student retention through support, encouragement, and guidance, and participate in coordinating programs with outside participating agencies. You will advise and assist students in need with obtaining student services from campus and/or community resources through referral to these offices or agencies, and support internship programs as assigned. You will participate in the educational advising training program and perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Any combination equivalent to: Associate degree and two years of increasingly responsible program planning experience, including experience working with students in an academic environment. You must have knowledge of college application and enrollment procedures, student services available at the college, modern office procedures, methods, and equipment, and the use and application of computer equipment. You must also have the ability to communicate information to individuals and small groups, interpret and apply the policies and procedures of the college and assigned program, interact with and motivate others, maintain records and prepare reports, understand and follow oral and written instructions, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $4, $6,272.29 monthly, with a maximum entry-level salary of $4,663.80 monthly. The District offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
