Job Summary:

The Georgia Department of Education is seeking an experienced Audiologist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will assess and treat children with hearing loss, fit and dispense hearing aids, and provide support for auditory training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and interpret comprehensive auditory evaluations to diagnose hearing loss and recommend treatment options.
  • Collaborate with physicians, educators, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide counseling and education to clients and families on evaluation findings and recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with referral sources and families to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Dispense assistive equipment, such as hearing aids, and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment recommendations as needed.
  • Prepare reports on diagnostic findings, treatment used, and client progress.
  • Stay up-to-date on documentation requirements for authorization and billing purposes.
  • Participate in public information events and volunteer fairs to promote the Georgia Mobile Audiology Program and State Schools Outreach.
  • Provide education and consultation to staff, school personnel, and community stakeholders on auditory disorders and their implications for social/emotional and language development.
  • Participate in research studies and present findings at conferences.
  • Supervise graduate students in Audiology and evaluate their performance.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology from an accredited institution.
  • One year of experience as an Audiologist or equivalent position.
  • Current Georgia licensure and/or certification to practice in the area of assignment.
