Job Summary:

The Georgia Department of Education is seeking an experienced Audiologist to join our team. The successful candidate will assess and treat children with hearing loss, fit and dispense hearing aids, and provide support for auditory training. At least 50% travel is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and interpret comprehensive auditory evaluations
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health and educational personnel
  • Assess need for and recommend auditory rehabilitation, including medical referrals and amplification needs
  • Counsel clients and families on evaluation findings and recommendations
  • Communicate recommendations to referral sources and family
  • Dispense recommended assistive equipment, such as hearing aids
  • Maintain client records at all stages
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment recommendations
  • Prepare reports on diagnostic findings and client progress
  • Maintain clear understanding of documentation required for authorization and billing purposes
  • Participate in public information events and volunteer fairs to promote the Georgia Mobile Audiology Program
  • Provide education and consultation to staff, school personnel, and community stakeholders
  • Participate in research studies for publication and conference presentations
  • Supervise graduate students in Audiology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience as an Audiologist with pediatric diagnostic and hearing assistive technology experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to audiological services
  • Knowledge and experience with educational audiology
  • Experience with supervision of audiology technicians, assistants, and/or students
