Job Summary:

The Georgia Department of Education is seeking an experienced Audiologist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for assessing and treating children with hearing loss, providing support for auditory training, and collaborating with healthcare professionals and educators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and interpret comprehensive auditory evaluations to identify hearing loss and develop treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Recommend and dispense assistive equipment, such as hearing aids, to support auditory rehabilitation.
  • Counsel clients and families on evaluation findings and treatment recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with referral sources, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Maintain accurate client records and reports on diagnostic findings and treatment progress.
  • Participate in public information events and education initiatives to promote the Georgia Mobile Audiology Program and State Schools Outreach.
  • Provide education and consultation to staff, school personnel, and community stakeholders on auditory disorders and management of care.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate or Master's degree in speech-language pathology or audiology from an accredited college or university.
  • One year of experience at the lower level Aud/Speech Pathologist 1 or position equivalent.
  • Current Georgia licensure and/or certification to practice in the area of assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three years of experience as an Audiologist with pediatric diagnostic and hearing assistive technology experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to audiological services to students.
  • Experience with supervision of audiology technicians, assistants, and/or students.
