We are currently in search of a skilled MOTOR TRUCK CARGO Insurance Claims Specialist to enhance our team. This role offers the flexibility of remote work while being part of a dynamic organization.
The Motor Truck Cargo Insurance Claims Specialist will engage with insured parties and other stakeholders to effectively manage cargo claims. Responsibilities include investigating, assessing, negotiating, and resolving intricate cargo loss claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with and interview insured parties, shippers, consignees, and carriers regarding cargo loss incidents.
- Assess and resolve commercial cargo claims across multiple states.
- Establish claim values and negotiate settlements within the defined authority limits.
- Collaborate with clients and legal representatives to ensure proper case handling as necessary.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in insurance, specifically in motor truck cargo claims processing or related fields.
- Ability to interpret insurance policies and determine applicable coverage for losses.
- Proficient claims handling skills.
- Strong understanding of the Carmack Amendment and relevant shipping regulations.
- Knowledge of dry goods versus temperature-sensitive goods.
- Familiarity with wholesale and retail product distinctions.
- Experience with salvage processes and time constraints for perishable cargo.
- Competence in understanding and auditing tow bills and wrecker equipment.
- Expertise in cargo subrogation.
- Exceptional analytical and investigative abilities.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Outstanding customer service orientation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on deadlines.
