Medical Clinic Support Staff

The Crystal Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Hand and Wrist Clinic team. As a valued member of our staff, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
About the Role
This part-time position offers 32 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with variable days from 8am to 4:30pm. The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years of experience in the field or profession, with prior front desk experience in a medical office preferred. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for assisting physicians and/or advanced practice providers in the clinic setting. This includes rooming patients, taking medical histories, completing thorough documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR), preparation and administration of injections, patient phone calls, and assisting with procedures such as applying and removing casts and fitting and educating patients on durable medical equipment (DME).
Additional Duties
The LPN will also greet patients, complete check-in processes, and answer patients' general questions. They will answer telephone calls, schedule office and follow-up appointments, obtain and process referrals, prepare charts for new patients, pull charts for upcoming established patient visits, ensure that proper patient forms are complete, current, and entered into the computer, locate medical charts as needed, chart filing and purging, check charts for progress notes and stat orders, prepare charge tickets, act on stat orders, run charge tickets and patient-specific forms, process medical records requests, track and document 'no-show' patients, monitor patient waiting areas, make coffee, straighten up the area if needed, collect co-pays/POA, balance cash drawers, gather information for outside testing if required, obtain authorizations from insurance companies for testing and injections, provide backup coverage and assist in daily office routine when needed in other areas, monitor and maintain front office equipment, order office supplies, orthopaedic/medical equipment, and supplies, clean, sterilize, and stock/maintain examination rooms and equipment, maintain cleanliness of all clinical areas and exam rooms, restock and order supplies within budgetary constraints, check and clean equipment, make minor adjustments, report need for repair or maintenance to manager, assist physicians and/or physician's assistants with special procedures, gather necessary equipment and instruments, position patients, and respond to instructions given by physicians or physician's assistants.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must have a graduate degree from a school of practical nursing, hold a current license to practice practical nursing in the state of Ohio, be authorized to administer medications by the state of Ohio board of nursing, and obtain BLS within three months of hire. Experience with EMRs and electronic documentation is also a plus.
