Position Overview

The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Court Designated Worker. This position is essential in supporting the operations of the Department of Family and Juvenile Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage intake processes for juveniles facing public or status offense allegations.
  • Coordinate placements for youth taken into custody by law enforcement.
  • Conduct initial assessments on complaints regarding juveniles.
  • Advise on formal processing or informal resolutions.
  • Develop and oversee diversion agreements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Compile and analyze statistical data.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree required.

Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is necessary. Alternatively, a High School Diploma accompanied by three years of job-related experience may be considered.

Special Requirements: Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of juvenile delinquency concepts and the juvenile justice system, along with strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.

Working Conditions

This role is on-call and may require availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Duties will be performed in an office environment and may involve travel.
