Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Penn State Health. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients, as well as receiving and processing other laboratory specimens.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood specimens from patients using aseptic techniques and proper phlebotomy procedures.
- Receive and process other laboratory specimens, including 24-hour urine containers, sputum, and stool specimens.
- Enter, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information into various information systems.
- Perform and report bedside glucose testing.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Six (6) months phlebotomy experience required or completion of an internship through a certified training program.
- Bedside glucose and pediatric collection experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification, general computer skills, CPR, and additional language skills (e.g., Spanish) preferred.
