Phlebotomy Specialist

Penn State Health is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Hershey Medical Center. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients, as well as receiving and processing other laboratory specimens. This is a full-time position with a varied shift schedule, including weekends.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood specimens from patients using aseptic techniques
- Process and verify patient demographic and insurance information
- Perform and report bedside glucose testing
- Enter and update patient information into various information systems
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 6 months phlebotomy experience or completion of an internship through a certified training program required
- Pass a written test with at least 80%
- Bedside glucose and pediatric collection experience preferred
- Phlebotomy Certification, general computer skills, CPR, and additional language skills preferred
