Position Overview

The Telemetry Technician plays a crucial role in the Tele Monitoring Unit at Aspirus Stevens Point, focusing on the observation and interpretation of cardiac telemetry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Monitoring: Vigilantly observes and interprets cardiac telemetry data, providing essential information to the Registered Nurse based on findings.
  • Administrative Support: Functions as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) in the ICU, managing various tasks within the Epic system related to patient admissions and communication.
  • Emergency Response: Responsible for managing the hospital Code Phone and initiating overhead codes as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of current inpatient acute hospital experience is required.
  • Charting Skills: Proficiency in EPIC charting is mandatory.
Work Schedule
  • Hours: Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly, with overtime applicable after 80 hours worked in the second week.
  • Shifts: Primarily night shifts, with weekend coverage required on an alternating basis.
Unit Information

The Tele Monitoring Unit is equipped to handle a specific patient ratio and case types, ensuring optimal care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring.

Additional Information
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks.
  • Radius Rule: Contractors must reside outside a 50-mile radius.
  • Orientation: Immediate orientation available.
