About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Care Director to join our team at Kiddie Academy of Rutherford. As a leader in the early childhood education industry, we are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Recruit, hire, and supervise a team of qualified childcare professionals.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure quality childcare services.
    • Organize and manage childcare activities, groups, and programs, including curriculum development.
  • Child Development and Education
    • Monitor the progress of each child and organize meetings with parents to discuss any concerns.
    • Develop and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Operations and Administration
    • Manage the operational budget and ensure that resources are used in a fiscally responsible manner.
    • Collaborate with other organizations to provide exceptional childcare services.
    • Manage the subsidy program and ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Accreditation and Quality Assurance
    • Ensure that the center meets the requirements for NJ Grow or NAEYC accreditation.
  • Marketing and Enrollment
    • Tour parents and develop strategies to increase enrollments.
Requirements
  • A 4-year Bachelor's degree in education, childcare, early childhood development, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in working in a national childcare center.
  • Excellent leadership, customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong understanding of credentialing requirements in the state of New Jersey.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dynamic leadership with out-of-the-box thinking to make Kiddie Academy of Rutherford a best-in-class center.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards for childcare.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Procare (or other systems).
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of two years' experience as a center director or assistant director.
  • A state-required director's credential.
  • Knowledge and experience working with early childhood national and state accrediting agencies.
  • Knowledge of the early childhood field and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Previous experience in and/or knowledge of training, coaching, or mentoring mechanisms.
