POSITION TITLE: Receiver / Storeroom
REPORTS TO: Shipping Coordinator/ Supervisor
LOCATION: Canonsburg, PA
DEPARTMENT: Production
JOB LEVEL: 204 : Starting wage: $17.16
STATUS: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
The Receiver is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the storeroom. Responsibilities include managing freight and UPS deliveries, ensuring incoming materials are stored systematically, and packaging and dispatching service orders and non-conforming items promptly. The role also involves preparing parts for work orders, conducting cycle counts, and maintaining organized documentation. A commitment to safety and cleanliness in the workspace is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive punctually, well-groomed, and ready to work.
- Scan and verify all received goods against shipping documents.
- Facilitate the flow of products to the production floor.
- Utilize forklift skills for loading and unloading trucks.
- Ensure outgoing products are documented and labeled per company standards.
- Manage the Return to Vendor (RTV) process.
- Inspect received merchandise for damage or discrepancies and report to management.
- Assist in training new associates as necessary.
- Secure all assets and adhere to loss prevention protocols.
- Operate mobile equipment such as front loaders and forklifts as required.
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to interact with drivers and customers in a professional manner.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a sense of urgency.
- Capability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently and seek assistance when needed.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, with strong mathematical skills.
- Minimum of three years of experience operating a forklift.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Physical Job Demands
Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs, endure extreme temperatures, and stand for extended periods. The role may involve exposure to loud noises and requires manual dexterity to operate specialized equipment. Clear communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration.
Working Conditions
Standard working hours are Monday through Friday during the day shift.
