Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Specialist - Facilities to join our team at Toyota Boshoku America. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine and implement maintenance plans for facility equipment, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Assist in evaluating safety problems, accidents, and unsafe conditions, and respond to associate recommendations and/or complaints.
  • Serve as liaison with external service providers, including fire alarm system and fire extinguisher services, and with the local fire department.
  • Represent the company in interactions with government agencies, ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing potential noncompliance.
  • Perform emergency response duties as QRT chief, addressing facility issues promptly.
  • Prepare and review technical reports for submission to relevant agencies on abatement programs and permits.
  • Serve as liaison to Engineering during new facility construction projects.
  • Maintain contact with parent companies for advice and to respond to requests regarding compliance with government regulations.
  • Act as contact person for all outside-provided utilities, including natural gas, water, electric, waste water, sewer, HVAC systems, and compressed air.
  • Recommend locations for utilities, including natural gas, water, and sewer lines.
  • Maintain plant security, including keys, locks, codes, and fire alarms.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget by providing forecasts for utilities, services, permits, and facilities equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain and update blueprints for buildings and utilities.
  • Act as contact person between contractors and Engineers regarding utilities.
  • Responsible for all new building equipment, including specification, quotes, installation, buyoff, and testing.
  • Responsible for relocating or modifying all utilities, including gas, compressed air, water, sewer, ductwork, and electricity.
  • Responsible for checking monthly electric, gas, and water costs, ensuring power factor remains above 85% and implementing cost-saving programs.
  • Responsible for security and alarm systems, including repair, relocation, and new equipment installation.
  • Update fire zone maps annually.
  • Purchase safety equipment for the plant, including ladders, safety fences, fire extinguishers, safety signs, and floor decals.
  • Responsible for annual safety inspections of overhead cranes throughout the building and maintaining records according to OSHA guidelines.
  • Contact for all City, State, and Federal permits and approvals for building and facility modifications.
  • Monitor company grounds, including lawn, landscaping, outside storage areas, drainage, and storm water regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Diploma from a technical field required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Certification in HAZMAT is necessary.
  • Greater than four (4) years of Manufacturing Engineering or Maintenance experience required.
  • General manufacturing and industrial equipment knowledge required.
  • Must understand and have a working knowledge of all plant systems, including air conditioning, roof, chill water system, air compressors, sprinkler systems, building access, lighting, electrical systems, and any current problems.
  • Must understand and be able to locate all gas, water, and sewer lines on the property.
  • Must be a member of the plant safety committee.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures for safety and environmental issues.
  • Requires a complete awareness and understanding of all applicable OSHA and EPA regulations and requirements, as well as any related local, state, or federal laws.
