Job Summary

Capgemini is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical and Physical Engineer to join our team as a Design Responsible Engineer for E-Motor components. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for guiding the development of electric motor components from sourcing to launch. Your expertise in mechanical and physical design will be crucial in ensuring the successful design, manufacturability, and quality of our E-Motor components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop functional solutions that meet design requirements and ensure proper design works with other components.
  • Own and update Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan and Report (DVPR), and ensure functional objectives, guidelines, and corporate requirements are met.
  • Develop timelines and drive programs to meet deliverables, presenting action plans with status and risks to keep programs on track.
  • Manage Tier I suppliers and software releases and/or hardware designs to meet program timing and work, following, tracking, and root-causing build issues found during pre-production builds.
  • Clearly communicate component status and issues in Google Suite and MS-Office applications.
  • Work with Prototype Build Engineering to procure long lead components and coordinate sample requests for component suppliers.
  • Work with designers to develop packaging and resolve issues.
  • Provide build and launch support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in the automotive field, preferably in product development/powertrain.
  • Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills, and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Advanced degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 5 years of related engineering experience.
  • 2 years of design release experience.
  • Understanding of Electric Motor operation, design, manufacturing, testing, and development.
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Experience with NX/Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of drawing GD&T and dimensional tolerance stack-ups.
  • Experience with Statement of Requirements, DFMEA, and Design Reviews.
  • Working knowledge of problem resolution and tracking systems and engineering change management processes.
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Certification.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Always eager to learn and improve.
