**Overview**

Our Respiratory Care Specialists are responsible for the setup, operation, and assessment of various routine and advanced life support apparatus used in diagnosing and treating respiratory conditions in patients across all age groups, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. This role is performed under the guidance of the Director of Cardio-Respiratory Care Services and/or the Respiratory Care Manager, Supervisor, or Clinical Coordinator. The position requires a demonstration of the knowledge and skills necessary to provide suitable care based on the patient's age and specific needs.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to formulate and adjust patient care plans.
  • Administer complex therapies that necessitate considerable independent judgment, particularly for patients in critical care.
  • Conduct physical assessments and diagnostic evaluations to measure lung function and blood gas levels.
  • Deliver treatments utilizing oxygen, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy, and connect patients requiring ventilatory support.
  • Instruct patients on the proper use of respiratory equipment and medications.
**Qualifications:**
  • High School Diploma required; graduation from an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • Registry eligible or Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred.
  • New graduates are welcome to apply, although a minimum of one year of clinical experience in Respiratory Care is preferred. Must possess a valid New York State license or permit.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

**Work Schedule:** Night Shift (12.5 hours)

**Work Shift:** 1830 to 0730, including rotating holidays and weekends
