Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Venipuncture Team Lead to join our team at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of our phlebotomy personnel and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the work activities of the phlebotomy group, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Resolve customer service concerns by implementing service recovery initiatives and promoting a customer-centric culture.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new employees, providing ongoing support and guidance to ensure their success.
  • Assure timely response to priority venipuncture requests and maintain adequate staffing coverage for all shifts and positions.
  • Work closely with nursing personnel, department directors, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to all Infection Control Policies and Procedures, CAP guidelines, and department Safety Manual.
  • Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of our patient population, ensuring respect for privacy and effective communication.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; leadership experience preferred.
  • 7 years of experience in a healthcare-related field, with a focus on phlebotomy or a related field.
  • Excellent decision-making and delegation skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
